“iZombie” fans will see a much different Major (Robert Buckley) when the CW zombie drama returns for season 2 this coming October.

In a new interview with Hollywood Life, series executive producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright teased that the show’s sophomore run will introduce a different version of Major, noting that there’s a lot of things about the hunky social worker that have changed since the events in the season 1 finale.

“He’s going to get even more different. There’s a lot of changes for him,” Ruggiero-Wright said. “The Major storyline is one that I’m most proud of and that [fellow executive producer] Rob [Thomas], I think to his credit, was talking about from the very beginning.”

Though Ruggiero-Wright didn’t reveal what those changes are, she did gush about the 34-year-old actor’s versatility. “Buckley had played a lot of the pretty roles,” she said, “[yet] people didn’t know he was a good actor, [and] that he had this other side to him: he’s funny as hell and he can have an edge to him. He has range, and people look at him and they see eyebrows and abs, and they don’t realize that.”

“When you have someone who is so compelling, you can push the envelope with him into territories where people are like, ‘Do I like him? I think I like him,'” she added. “There are definitely a lot of interesting things coming with him.”

In the season 1 finale, Major finally found out that his ex-fiancée, Liv, (Rose McIver) is a zombie, and when season 2 premieres, Thomas revealed (via TVLine) at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con that “Major is still not quite over the fact that Liv did not let him in on her zombie secret.”

Ruggiero-Wright echoed Thomas’ statement during her interview with Hollywood Life, saying, “In the beginning [of season 2], he’s pissed [with Liv].

“His life was completely upended in so many ways,” she explained of why Major is still upset. “He has all this stuff on himself that he feels she could have alleviated him of, and that’s not an easy thing to get over. He still has a legitimate gripe, and it’s going to take a little bit for him to get past it, rightfully, so we’re going to be honest about it.”

“iZombie” season 2 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Best. Weekend. Ever,” according to “iZombie” star Robert Buckley

The 2015 San Diego Comic Con is almost upon us, and Warner Bros TV, the studio behind the ever-expanding “Arrow”-“The Flash” universe as well as a plethora of other shows, is bringing a legion of stars to town.

In a new video, stars from the aforementioned comic book adaptations, as well as actors from “The Vampire Diaries,” “Gotham,” “The 100” and more share their thoughts about the four-day geek extravaganza in three words.

It’s “my kind of party” for “Arrow” and “The Flash” stars Katie Cassidy and Danielle Panabaker, while “Supernatural” brothers Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki deem it “fan freaking tastic.”

“Gotham’s” Jim Gordon, Ben McKenzie, is expecting “total freaking madness,” while “Vampire Diaries” star Paul Wesley shares a similar sentiment, equating the convention with “terrifyingly enthusiastic fanboys.”

Or maybe it will just be the “best weekend EVER,” in the words of “iZombie” star Robert Buckley, who shows off his geek cred by delivering the message surrounded by comic books.
